WordPress Post/Page Update Button Does Not Work

WordPress is constantly evolving and providing updates for installation. Be careful and pay attention. Sometimes these updates can create problems when they should resolve existing problems. One of these such instances occurred with our site when we loaded the latest revision of Jetpack for WordPress. Jetpack has a spelling and grammar add-on/module that proofreads any post or page updates that you might type into the content area textbox. The latest revision of this add-on/module create an issue with the "UPDATE" button within our existing pages and posts.  Basically, the UPDATE button stopped working.  If you find you are experiencing this same issue.  You can resolve it by following these steps.

  1. Login to your WordPress admin panel.
  2. In the middle of the WordPress dashboard, select Users -> Your Profile.
  3. Under the Proofreading section remove both of the checked checkboxes for automatic proofreading for the post and page publishing and updates.
  4. Now test your functionality by trying to update a page or post.

Suggestion: If you need a spell checker like me, use the built-in spell checker found within your WYSIWYG editor i.e. CKEditor or similar.
